I just LOVE doing custom work for friends, family and clients. There is something that is {as cheesy as it sounds} truly magical about it. Of course, of course I could design and finish pieces on my own until the cows come home {and sometimes I do}... but there's never any guarantee that anyone will like what I happen to come up with, let alone, purchase it. Custom orders, on the other hand, are so much fun!

We are selling a super cool pedestal table. The top has been refinished and stained a dark walnut. The bottom legs & apron are painted and distressed in an antique white.   I found these two very similar ones and had a revelation! Their storage areas are just perfect for stashing kids toys and art supplies... I thought, why not do the tops in Chalkboard paint!? They are the perfect height for little ones to gather around and create beautiful art! Sure beats having your two-year-old writing on the walls, right? Their extremely durable tops can be cleaned easily... and when you're done with art time, all of their art supplies can be hidden underneath in the storage cabinets.

Hello there! Today it's in the 20's and definitely too cold to be out in the garage painting so I started reorganizing my stock of soon-to-be-worked-on furniture pieces. I almost forgot about this incredibly amazing piece of history. 

The ugliest coffee table in the world: Part II

So remember my post a while back on the ugliest coffee table in the world? It is finally done and I am SO excited to share how it turned out!

The hubby and I love it... it really just pulls the room together and the stained top turned out surprisingly well for a couple of first-timers! Bella, our wonderfully lazy Golden Retriever, is certainly the coffee table's biggest fan though. It's turned out to be her favorite new place to nap in our Family Room. In fact, when I was trying to snap a few photos of the finished product, she was so comfy that she wouldn't budge... so I guess seeing her enjoy it is just an added bonus!

Pair of perfectly mismatched French provincial side tables - SOLD

I just finished the most adorable shabby end tables! I love it when there's an opportunity to intentionally and perfectly mismatch furniture pieces in design. I specifically picked both of these tables for that very reason. They are both French provincial side Tables... One has a storage shelf below, to stylishly display your favorite books or trinkets. The other, has a sizable drawer for keeping items like remote controls and junk hidden :)

Shabby vintage buffet! - SOLD

I know that a few of you were really disappointed when my last vintage buffet redo sold so fast. I always have something waiting in the wings and here she is! I just finished her this morning :)

If you remember the recent custom order I did for Jennifer, (the aqua vintage highboy Dresser) this piece is it's sister. I was hesitant to separate them, but I had such different visions for each one that I ultimately decided it was the best choice.
