Custom Teal Mismatched Dining Chairs

I just finished another custom order for dining chairs and this might be my favorite yet! I am so excited to show you all :)

I've been working on a client's dining room revamp and the couple recently purchased an amazing {and HUGE} rustic table from Pottery Barn. It expands to something like 9 or 10 feet long! This definitely called for LOTS of fun chairs.

TEN to be exact.

When discussing the plan, we decided that mis-matched was the way to go. It's fun, it's unique, it's one-of-a-kind. Everything is tied together through color and fabric so it looks like one uniform set. But each chair has it's own story, patina, and unique look.

My favorite thing about mis-matched dining rooms?

If you ever expand your family.... or even need more seating for a huge dinner party, it's so easy to add to your collection at any time by finding another fun chair and finishing it with the same paint and fabric.

FOR SALE: Lovely Teal Accent Table w/ Sewing Machine - $150

Check out this distressed aqua console table! I recently picked up this amazing piece and immediately fell in love. I've always loved vintage pieces with a purpose. This one was a Sewing table with an adorable olivey copper colored antique sewing machine still intact. When I was told that the machine still works.... DONE! I snatched it up right away!

It's painted in our signature olive + hazel teal, distressed to perfection and glazed to highlight all of those awesome crevices in the legs. MMM. Love it.

This is perfect for a foyer or entry to be used as a console table. Cute little box on top for keys. Basket underneath for shoes. You're set to go!
This also makes a lovely writing/laptop desk, a vanity or a side table. I have one in our Master Bedroom with a cute patterned laundry bin underneath.

It has endless possibilities and it's just dying to be that great pop of color in your home.

Unique Barn Door Red + Aqua Kitchen Accessory Set! - SOLD

Oh my goodness. So anyone who's been in my kitchen knows that I'm kind of a sucker for a good "pop" of color. And I'm also pretty notorious for painting just about anything I can get my hands on. Bread boxes, knife blocks, wooden signs, spice racks.... all of the above are prominently displayed in my kitchen. Simply put... I'm obsessed with anything "functional yet stylish". And I always find myself asking the question: "If it's functional, why can't it be stylish too?"

Aqua distressed pedestal table w/ textured faux hammered bronze top - SOLD

This one is for all of you out there who like a good "pop" or color and furniture that really stands out. This distressed aqua + cream pedestal table is SO fun and unique. The pedestal base has some really cool glazing effects that add a lot of character. The top is a great solid wood that's been texturized with a hammered finish in a dark oil-rubbed bronze.

Since it's round, it's petite enough to fit in your kitchenette or a breakfast nook...but it would certainly work beautifully as the centerpiece of your formal dining room as well. It seats 5-6.

Custom chairs

Before.... not so pretty, huh?
Last year I finished a really cool chalkboard top pedestal table and posted it for sale. It wasn't long before this great couple, Tiffany and Craig, came along and snatched it up! They were building a home and knew that it would work well for their adorable family of 5.

Along with the table, they also hired me to finish 6 custom chairs to match.

They recently closed on their house and came by to pick everything up. I love how they all turned out!

The ugliest coffee table in the world: Part II

So remember my post a while back on the ugliest coffee table in the world? It is finally done and I am SO excited to share how it turned out!

The hubby and I love it... it really just pulls the room together and the stained top turned out surprisingly well for a couple of first-timers! Bella, our wonderfully lazy Golden Retriever, is certainly the coffee table's biggest fan though. It's turned out to be her favorite new place to nap in our Family Room. In fact, when I was trying to snap a few photos of the finished product, she was so comfy that she wouldn't budge... so I guess seeing her enjoy it is just an added bonus!

Pair of perfectly mismatched French provincial side tables - SOLD

I just finished the most adorable shabby end tables! I love it when there's an opportunity to intentionally and perfectly mismatch furniture pieces in design. I specifically picked both of these tables for that very reason. They are both French provincial side Tables... One has a storage shelf below, to stylishly display your favorite books or trinkets. The other, has a sizable drawer for keeping items like remote controls and junk hidden :)

The ugliest coffee table in the world...

Isn't this the ugliest coffee table you've ever seen? Forest green just isn't my thing....
The Hubby and I were on our usual Tuesday night trip to our favorite store. For some reason, I always seem to strike gold on Tuesdays. We walked in, skipped over the aisles of ugly trinkets and smelly clothing and went straight to the furniture section. Our favorite section. I immediately saw this amazing coffee table and as if I were a kid at a birthday party, went lunging towards it like it were candy falling out of a piƱata. I stood there guarding it as my husband, catching up, came walking towards me. He looked down at the table, looked up at me with a puzzled and confused look, and down at the table again. I was practically squeeling with excitement.  Him: not so much.

Adorable antique veggie hutch! - SOLD

Potatoes and onions and carrots... oh my! This adorable antique vegetable cabinet is a charming addition to any kitchen. It is painted an aqua/turquoise blue, distressed and antiqued using a staining method. Then it received a wonderful glaze to preserve it for years to come! The top window used to be a wooden board. I removed it, upholstered it with this adorable black and white damask fabric and reinstalled it. The other windows are lined with rustic chicken wire (which is so big right now!) The top has an expandable drop-leaf for added display space.
This piece can hold it's own as a vegetable cabinet... but it's also very versatile! This would be PERFECT in a bathroom to hold rolled-up towels and candles. It could also make a great addition to your foyer or entry-way. Use it to display photos and other meaningful items in a guest room. The possibilities are endless....

Aqua dressers x2 - SOLD

Aaaaaaqua. {Sigh.}I LOVE aqua. It's such a happy and cheerful color. The vast majority of all the pieces that I do have some shade of Aqua, Turquoise or Blue in them. These two twin beauties represent some of my favorite work. These vintage dressers had definitely seen better days when I first laid my eyes on them. A LOT of love later, they're looking bright, cheery and in excellent, restored condition. I painted them my favorite shade of aqua and then distressed them in all the right places. They remind me of a piece that I recently spotted in the Ballard Design catalog. Now they're worthy to live in just about any space in your home! Use one as a side table in your living room, a dresser, bedside table, or even a console table to hide your keys. I even debated keeping one for a TV stand in my living room. Endless possibilities... and every time you look at them you'll smile. I promise.
